One of South Africa’s favourite ice cream brands – Unilever's Ola Magnum – has been moved beyond its iconic on-the-stick ice cream with the launch of Magnum Pints. The new product format in 450ml tubs comes in four new flavours to deliver an indulgent at-home experience.
In an NPD move that has curiously not been done before, Danone Southern Africa has launched a new brand for the kiddie market, Yo-Jelly, described as 'a brand new and unique product that combines the fun taste sensation of jelly with the trusted health benefits of yoghurt'.
Fair Cape Dairies has gone a green step further with its fresh milk, replacing its Free Range trademark with a new marque, Fair Cape ECO-FRESH, a milk range produced in an ecologically-friendly manner and with "a significantly lower carbon footprint".
Nestlé has introduced Krazy Monkey, claimed as the first ice cream that can be peeled, in South Africa. This banana-shaped treat, which is the newest addition to the Nestlé Impulse range, is covered in an edible grape-flavoured jelly, which consumers can peel away to enjoy the soft vanilla ice-cream filling inside.
