Since NoMU was the first to launch RUBS in South Africa in December 2000, there have been many, similar products that have gradually come to (and some also gone from) the local market.

We think that there are some very good reasons why we are still at the forefront of those still left standing. NoMU remains committed to producing the very best physical quality of rubs. We use only the highest grade of ingredients, only working with the best suppliers and maintaining an almost obsessive attitude to the quality and consistency of our consumer’s experience.   

Ultimately it has always been our desire to produce a range of products that we could be comfortable and confident in using ourselves. This personal guarantee has been the centre of our commitment to quality and excellence in everything we have done.'

That said even we can get a little tired of our own packaging eventually…

So with the decision to extend our family of rubs to include these three fabulous new flavours (Roast, Coffee and One for All), we felt the timing was right to do something far more visually striking and also more contemporary.

The new NoMU Look is both bold and very visual. We have modernised our tone to bring the brand more up to date while also not losing the intrinsic sharpness and style which we believe has become our recognizable trademark. Our NoMU sleeves create a vibrant splash of colour on shelf, distancing us from other similar products while also resolving some serious merchandising challenges.

More importantly perhaps, our REFILL boxes help us to make a difference in a number of ways:

By creating smaller packs that contain smaller quantities, we now make it possible to recycle our tins while also making a contribution to protecting the natural environment. Our consumers can also save some money as the REFILL boxes are naturally going to be a little cheaper!

The REFILL Boxes also allow us to work with local suppliers, using recycled board and paper, thereby significantly lowering our carbon footprint, cutting back on our need to import packaging materials. By buying locally, we are also actively supporting local industry.

The NEW Flavours!

COFFEE RUB
This new RUB blend has a deeply aromatic coffee and spice note designed to add intrigue, flavour and a subtle complexity to your dishes. Like all NoMU RUBS, this blend is also very versatile and can be used in a huge array of meal and recipe ideas. Rub onto meat or chicken before roasting, frying, BBQ’ing, smoking or grilling. Its dark roasted espresso beans add an irresistible richness to your flavour, making this blend perfect for steaks, chops or fillets cooked over the coals.

ROAST RUB
This unique and original herb and spice combination perfectly blends to add aromatic flavour to all your favourite roasts. Simply combine this RUB with a splash of your favourite olive oil and generously rub into your choice of meat, chicken or fish. You will also be able to experience this perfect and deliciously healthy seasoning on oven roasted vegetables or rustic potato wedges as well anything you love to roast. Alternatively you can even stir this blend into stuffing, crumbs, gravies or sauces!

ONE-FOR-ALL RUB
Perhaps our all-time favourite, this herb and spice blend will add delicious all-round aromatic flavour to all your savoury dishes. Simply rub into your choice of meat, chicken or fish together with a splash of your favourite oil. This blend is also perfect sprinkled oven roasted vegetables or rustic potato wedges. For the easiest, yummy, instant marinade, just stir this into olive oil and for added richness, stir into soups, stews or sauces.
